The key conventions for a magazine is to have a master head which is the main title and is the title of the magazine. The magazine must have a main image which is in the centre of the mag and what the magazines main feature is. The magazine must have a bar code which is at the bottom of the page and usually contains the price of the magazine. Most Magazines have slogans which sell the magazine and the main attraction. The magazine must have cover lines which are what is in the magazine like the main features and they are all over the magazine. Lastly the magazine must have a date line. 

GQ Magazine

1. The first thing that I would like to use from GQ is way the image slightly blocks the logo. 
2. I would like to use their top right cover line which is in bold which tells the audience about a feature and it is on line with the title of the magazine
3. I would like to borrow the text boxes they use on the front page which contains facts 

Empire magazine
1. I would like to create a sticker which is used on the empire magazine. 
2. I would like to use their cover line which is used right at the bottom of the magazine cover which has bullet points of people who feature in the magazine. 

Four Four Two 
1. The one idea that I will like to use from this magazine is the Plus that they use to show tell the audience what is in the magazine and it only takes a small amount of space on the double page spread.

Ronald miller is a 20 year old boy who has been accused of video game addiction and is currently on bail waiting for his trial. He had time to speak with us about his experience and what happened on the day he killed somebody and we learn about something which was very important to him that got taken away in this exclusive interview. 

What inspired you to play video games in the first place? 

I've always played video games. when I was in high school, 8th grade, I wasn't addicted. My parents only let me play on: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. That's it. I was a good student and loved going to school and video games wasn't a problem. I was an average boy, at the time, playing weekends. Throughout my years in elementary school (High school) I can categorically deny I had no addiction in high school because I read in the UK tabloids this addiction occurred in high school. I was normal it might be hard to believe but that is the truth.  However there was an event that changed my life forever. 

Can you talk about this event...?

Yes, it was the death of my father and he was stabbed and he didn't make it and this happened when i was in college. This happened in the first year of college last year. This was the year GTA 5 was out and I really wanted to take my anger out because the person that stabbed my dad got away and grand theft auto was my only hope. Then I played this for many hours throughout the day and nobody told me stopped because I moved to California and my mother lived across the country in Detroit. So You cannot play my Mother because she wasn't with me.  

So what would you blame your addiction on?

I still don't know they're many things that caused me to take somebodies life away. I played a violent video game do you really believe it could be this when my dad was stabbed and justices wasn't done. Moving away from my one who I don't see anymore?

But this happened after you played Grand theft auto for days?

Maybe it did influence what I did to the person.. I don't know. I did use some of the actions that they do in the video game but I think other things did influence what I done. My father died, I moved many miles away from my mother and my Girlfriend dumped me. So I had nobody because I was playing the game all day and I didn't get to meet new friends and I was depressed. 

So can you tell us more about your dad and what happened on the day?

The day was a blur and I remember the whole day and it was the worst day in my life. I remember the time I was in the dinner place and I was with 4 friends and I got a phone call from my mum and she was crying it was at the point when she couldn't talk and she was just crying. So I quickly rushed home and when my mum opened the door she looked terrified and was crying and then I see the cops, standing in the hallway. I knew what was up because 9pm on a Friday my dad used to come home from work and have coco watching the TV set and it hit my mind straight away that something is up with my dad. Then when my mum told me I fell to the floor. 

What happened after this ?

This is when my life took a turn and I changed and I didn't do what you expect when you're depressed- taking drugs or drinking I just went non stop on video games. I played throughout the summer non stop I didn't come home in the summer back to Detroit because I was addicted and I didn't leave my house.

Was your mum worried?

I believe she wasn't because whenever she called me I put on a act that I was okay and I was chilling with my friends and going out with my friends, however this wasn't the case because I wasn't doing all them things because I was hooked on to the Grand theft Auto Video Game. So my mum was normal and didn't worry about my actions. 


Did GTA trigger you shouting somebody ?

I haven't thought about this and it's a valuable point but it might have played a part because I was playing it so much But I had to take my anger out because I couldn't keep it all in and I shot somebody. 

How Did you get hold of the gun?

I brought it with my grants that I got and I had money so I decided to buy a gun because I was scared and thought I wasn't safe any more so I had to protect myself 

You killed a 33 year old father Jimmy James! Why Him 

He was the one who was in the wrong place at the Wrong time. His son wasn't with him but I am sorry because I had to take my anger out somehow and I shot anybody I saw.

This is something that will occur in GTA

Agreed and GtA did help me kill the man because I copied on of the character but I would've played this game if my dad was alive and I wouldn't kill anyone but I killed him because I need to take out my anger of the person who Killed my Dad. I know the media Blame Gaming Industry but they don't talk about my experience and what really happened.

1, I picked GQ magazine because it links to what I want to do for my main linked production- Mens magazine.  As this magazine is only about males and it will be perfect for my topic.

2. The magazine was quite hard to produce and make it perfect. The first issue was to get the colours right and identical to the magazine I produced. The logo was hard to create and someone from the class had to help me to produce it.

3. The biggest strength of the production is the picture as it is almost perfect to the real one. Also the font I used was identical. When the logo was produced it was identical to the real one.

4. The first lesson I learnt was to never rush on Photoshop because it will not come out in the right way and to watch to tutorials to help you.
